mind in motion

Since I took polynox.info off-line in December 2006, a lot of time passed and quite a few things happened in my life. Both outside influences and inner reflection changed me in some ways, while leaving me the same in others. In this post I will tell you about some of the changes in my life during that time.
At the end of ’06 where I last posted to this blog, I was buried in work. Or rather, I felt buried in work. I couldn’t get up in the mornings and spend a lot of time reading blogs and news on-line. Diverting my thoughts from the important stuff that was waiting for me.
While I tried very hard not to cope with my personal reality, the work left undone piled up to bigger and bigger mountains until I somehow managed get up earlier in the mornings and actually got some work done in mid-2007.
I spent the first half of 2008 at BMW R&D in Munich working on some really interesting problems and learning to appreciate an ordered dayly routine, getting up early, working during the day and spending the evenings with friends in the city. That time really healed me.
The summer of 2008, back in Hamburg and back at the university was mostly spent writing my Bachelor thesis about an open source project (which I will be introducing shortly) and looking for an apartment, an undertaking that proved somewhat unnerving but ended gloriuosly by finding a place near the university and right next to some nice, little park. Here I moved in with my girlfriend, lucky to never see the dorm again.
During this time, I made some new friends, leading to regular visits to Hamburg’s club scene, many nights spent dancing and a somewhat increased interest in clothing.
In the last 10 months I started Ju-Jitsu and wrapped up what was left of my studies. So today, with only two exams to come in the next weeks, I look into the future.
